White Sox - Batting Practice Thursday - West Coast Baseball

The White Sox will meet at West Coast Baseball on Thursday (tomorrow) at 7PM for batting practice.

West Coast Baseball is located at 430 E. Grand Ave. in El Segundo.

From the 105 West, take the Sepulveda exit South.  Grand is just north of El Segundo Blvd.  Make a right on Grand and proceed to 430 E. Grand.

White Sox Schedule for the Week

The White Sox have a busy week ahead.

We will play the Culver Marina Yankees at 5:30 PM tomorrow at Culver Marina. Please arrive by 5PM for warm up.

We will play the CALL Broncos at 6PM on Wednesday at Ladera. This is a make up game for the game that was skipped on 4/11. Please arrive by 5PM for warm up.

We will play the Culver Marina Dodgers at 3:30PM on Saturday at Ladera. Please arrive by 2:30 for warm up.

Also, we will take team pictures on Saturday. I will send an email with our photo time later this week.

If you will miss any of the games, please email or phone to let us know. Also please refer to the schedule to confirm your snack dates.

White Sox Weekend Schedule

The White Sox will play the CMLL Dodgers tomorrow at 11:30 AM at Culver Marina field.  Please arrive at Culver Marina by 11AM for warm up.  Also, remember to wear your "road" gray pants.

The White Sox will play the Ladera Yankees on Sunday at 4:30 PM at Ladera.  Please arrive by 3:30 for warm up.

White Sox Game Recap and Schedule for the week

The White Sox used solid pitching and timely hitting to beat the tough Culver Marina Giants on Tuesday evening.  The game, which came at the end of a grueling 4 game in 5 day stretch, was called in the bottom of the 4th inning due to the 10 run mercy rule.

Navari Julius (1.55 ERA-6) pitched a complete game for the Sox and earned his 3rd win of the year.  For the first time season, the White Sox defense was put to the test.  The defense held firm accounting 10 of the 12 outs in the field.  Solid plays were made by Grant Craddolph, Cashion London, Reuben Peters, and Equan Martin. 

Offensively, the White Sox were led by Grant (2 hits, 1 RBI) and Navari (2 hits including a triple, 1 RBI).  Robert Togia, Daniel Gates, and Jabril Geter also accounted for 2 RBIs each.   Shane Early and Lawrence Gilliam accounted for 2 runs apiece. 

The win takes the White Sox record to 10-3 on the year.

Notes from the Team Mom - Snack Bar Assignments

Hi Everyone,


PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE AVAILABLE TOMORROW (4/19) TO WORK THE SNACK SHACK.

I really want each of you to have a positive experience this year and getting your $100 deposit returned to you is part of the process. Each White Sox family needs to volunteer for 2 shifts in the snack shack.

White Sox Game 7 Mini Recap and Misc Notes

The White Sox took their record to 6-1 with a 15-8 victory over the CMLL Yankees.   The White Sox now lead the Major division by 2.5 games.  The game was played at Culver Marina LL field.

Aaron Lyons got the start on the mound for the White Sox and went 2 innings for the win.  Aaron is now 2-0 with an ERA-6 of 4.67.  Grant Craddolph and Lawrence Gilliam pitched the 3rd and 4th innings to hold the lead for the White Sox.
 

Offensively, the White Sox were led by Equan Martin's (.429 BA) explosive bat.  He went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs.  He now leads the team with 2 home runs and 13 RBIs on the season.

Lead off batter Aaron Lyons (.476 BA) went 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs.  Grant, Lawrence, Shane Early and Cashion London also accounted for RBIs.  Daniel Gates (.429 BA) collected another hit and scored 2 runs.

 
Defensively, Cash had a great diving catch in shallow right field from the 2nd base position, and  Robert Togia was solid in his first start behind the plate. 

Special thanks to Daniel's brother Desmond for filling out our starting line up and playing LF.  Also, thanks go to the loyal White Sox fans who braved the sweltering heat to cheer on the guys.  Finally, thanks to the parents who manned the snack bar yesterday.   As a reminder, each family is expected to provide 4 hours of service in the snack bar this year.  Please check with Mary Jane if you have not signed up for your shifts yet.

In other Ladera Major Division news, the Pirates beat the Yankees on Saturday.  The Yankees dropped a close one to the CALL Cardinal yesteday at Ladera.  Like the White Sox, the Yankees were faced with missing players over the weekend.

The White Sox were fortunate to field 9 players for Saturday's game.  Please provide advanced notice if you will be missing games.  The White Sox only have 11 players on the active list.   If we don't know that you will miss a game, we are unable to make the necessary calls to contact pool players.

The Sox play tonight at 6PM against the Pirates.  Please arrive by 5PM for warm up.

1. Snack Shack Schedule for White Socks.

White Sox families have opportunities for snack shack duty starting this Sunday (4/13), Saturday (4/19), Saturday (5/21), Friday (6/6) and Saturday (6/14). There are 21 slots that we need to fill. I was thinking that it might be nice if some of us wanted to volunteer to cover for the coaches shifts (they already put in so much time with our boys). We have 6 shifts to cover this Sunday (I am out of town and can't volunteer, so we really need families this weekend!)


Please email the group and let us know what dates/times you can cover (remember that the League has your $100 check deposit for this and requires two volunteer slots for return).

White Sox - Schedule for the week

The White Sox went 1-1 this weekend to take their record to 4-1.  The Sox are in a tie with the Yankees atop the Major Division.
 
We will practice tomorrow at Ladera at 6PM.

The game schedule for the week is as follows:

Tuesday at 6PM vs the City of Angels Cardinal.  Please arrive at 5PM for warm up.

Friday at 6PM vs the City of Angels Broncos.  Please arrive at 5PM for warm up.

Saturday at 2PM vs. the Culver Marina  Yankees.  This game will take place at Culver Marina Little League.  We will organize another caravan from Ladera for this game.

White Sox Push Record to 3-0

The White Sox found their rhythm at the plate as they ran their record to 3-0 tonight with a 23-5 victory over the LLL Pirates.  Every White Sox scored in the game. 

Game Notes

Navari Julius collected his second win in as many starts on the mound.  His ERA-6 is 1.24 with 9.2 innings pitched and 16 strikeouts.

Grant Craddolph and Lawrence Gilliam followed him in relief.

The Sox were led offensively by Aaron Lyons (3-4 and scored 5 runs), Equan Martin (3-5 with 5 RBIs), and Reuben Peters (3-5 with 3 RBIs). 

Robert Togia continued his 3 game hitting streak.  Anthony Hall scored his first run of the year. 

Daniel Gates went 1-2 in the game.  He leads the team in batting average (.571) and home runs (1).   Cashion London went 1-3 and scored a run.  Shane Early scored 2 runs and accounted for 2 RBIs.

We will hold a brief parent meeting at 7:30. Please plan to attend.

We will practice at Ladera at 6PM on Monday. This the final week of practice before the games start on Saturday.

The White Sox will kick off the season against the Ladera Yankees at 12:30 PM on Saturday.
