White Sox Game 7 Mini Recap and Misc Notes

The White Sox took their record to 6-1 with a 15-8 victory over the CMLL Yankees.   The White Sox now lead the Major division by 2.5 games.  The game was played at Culver Marina LL field.

Aaron Lyons got the start on the mound for the White Sox and went 2 innings for the win.  Aaron is now 2-0 with an ERA-6 of 4.67.  Grant Craddolph and Lawrence Gilliam pitched the 3rd and 4th innings to hold the lead for the White Sox.
 

Offensively, the White Sox were led by Equan Martin's (.429 BA) explosive bat.  He went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs.  He now leads the team with 2 home runs and 13 RBIs on the season.

Lead off batter Aaron Lyons (.476 BA) went 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs.  Grant, Lawrence, Shane Early and Cashion London also accounted for RBIs.  Daniel Gates (.429 BA) collected another hit and scored 2 runs.

 
Defensively, Cash had a great diving catch in shallow right field from the 2nd base position, and  Robert Togia was solid in his first start behind the plate. 

Special thanks to Daniel's brother Desmond for filling out our starting line up and playing LF.  Also, thanks go to the loyal White Sox fans who braved the sweltering heat to cheer on the guys.  Finally, thanks to the parents who manned the snack bar yesterday.   As a reminder, each family is expected to provide 4 hours of service in the snack bar this year.  Please check with Mary Jane if you have not signed up for your shifts yet.

In other Ladera Major Division news, the Pirates beat the Yankees on Saturday.  The Yankees dropped a close one to the CALL Cardinal yesteday at Ladera.  Like the White Sox, the Yankees were faced with missing players over the weekend.

The White Sox were fortunate to field 9 players for Saturday's game.  Please provide advanced notice if you will be missing games.  The White Sox only have 11 players on the active list.   If we don't know that you will miss a game, we are unable to make the necessary calls to contact pool players.

The Sox play tonight at 6PM against the Pirates.  Please arrive by 5PM for warm up.
